The Cinema Arts Theatre, in association with National Public Radio's film correspondent Pat Dowell, is pleased to announce the Fall 2005 running of the Cinema Arts Film Club. The Film Club will meet on selected Sunday mornings at 10:00 am for the purpose of screening and critiquing independent or foreign films not yet in release in the Washington metropolitan area. Pat Dowell will host and introduce each film in the series, and will lead a post-screening discussion session with the audience

The manager comes in when it's really crowded to ask the audience's opinion on whether he should get the movies being previewed--it's awesome--it's direct democracy in the middle of fairfax!

Cinema Arts Theater is best because it is nearby, shows great films at fair prices and shows a personal interest in its customers. They care about us.

Willingness to try new things i.e. Sr. Day., 10AM+ movies, menu variety and variety w/ types of movies. They have several types playing at same time so there is a choice. Cheapest theater in area for Srs. = $6.00!! Easy FREE parking, pleasant helpful staff. . If there is problem with film when it is running the give a free pass for another movie. NO LOUD INVASIVE ADS before feature film.

Not only is the quality of the movies here top notch, there are no commercials and minimal coming attractions before you watch the film you bought a ticket to watch. The prices of concessions are reasonable and it's easier to go to for people in Virginia.

There's no way to leave the Cinema Arts theatre without a smile. Even if you don't like the movie. The nice experience begins when you buy your ticket and continues through the evening: the owner often "entertains" the audience before the feature, asking opinions on previews and movie trailers. The kids who work the ticket booth and concession stands are incredibly nice and are always pleasant. The seats are comfy and the views are good. And of course, the movies are great. The weekly emails keep you up to date on the movies, but also make you feel connected to the theatre and add to the experience--it feels like you have a friend in the theater business.

Great staff, great movies, best popcorn around, adult patrons who know to turn off their cell phones when the movie starts. It is everything a trip to the movies should be. Sure, the place is old, but I would take in a movie here than at the local McOmniPlex any day!

They have the off-beat films you can't see elsewhere in Fairfax County. We go there with friends more than any other single theatre.

Cinema Arts Theatre is the only Indie Theater in Northern Virginia and does a great job catering to its community. It does a great effort in getting feedback from its audience and making its costumer feel a sense of ownership.

Love the owner who brought indies to the burbs and sometimes asks the audience for suggestions.
